1951 - The Overhead Projector is Invented
The overhead
projector was invented in 1951, allowing teachers to not only keep a solid
record of class notes, but also to face their students while writing, both tasks
difficult with the old chalk and board method. The projector also enabled
instructors to display images for student viewing.
While a number of new
technologies were adapted and adopted for learning purposes, this particular
tool was actually developed specifically for use in classrooms and is still a
tech staple in many schools today.
Nowadays, overhead projectors come in
a variety of styles - standard, portable, LCD for use with computer...
The first market available projector was released by 3M in 1960;
they provide a page that tells more about projectors.
