Technology Timeline
1968
I can't think of a more under appreciated tool that is used everyday, and
that is the computer
mouse. Invented by Douglas Engelbart, it has revolutionized the way we
work, play and learn.
What makes this all the more amazing, is when he invented it, 1968.
Inventing something like
the mouse, at that time when computers were working with punch cards,
makes this all the
more innovative.
Here's a link to more about the inventor.

And to think towards the future a little...
2084
There is always more that can be done in the area of technology. One can
just look at the entertainment industry to see what the future could
possibly hold. Who's to say... one day we may be able to teleport, prepare
food at the touch of a button... or as in "The Jetsons" children may be
taught by robots. Such an idea is not totally without merit. Children now
can learn from educational software on computers, and with the use of
computers in general. Who is to say that one day these computers might not
take shape and become the teachers of the future. The only thing that
would be lacking would be the emotional involvement that a teacher brings
to his/her class. And for the students... much can be lost.
