On March 12, 2015 We Are Smarter Than You Technologies released the first intelligent eraser. This new products boasts the ability to only erase words that are spelled incorrectly or incorrect grammar. For example, if you are unsure of the proper spelling of a word in your composition you can simply attempt to erase it. If it smudges and finally erases there was an error, either in spelling or grammar. However, if the word or symbol does not erase then it was grammatically correct and can remain as is.
Only minimal details have immerged on the technology involved; however, insiders claim that the pencil used to originally write the script memorizes and analyzes the passage. Then this information is transferred to the eraser that can manipulate its ability to erase. The first question posed to the company was; what happens when the individual wants to change the structure of a sentence and erase words that are properly spelled? The answer to this was the individual should only use the new intelligent eraser in situations where they are investigating the integrity of the written work. In the case of erasing work that is correct the individual should just use a standard eraser.
This technology is expected to be implemented in grades 1-8 where students are learning the spelling and grammar of their language and often make mistakes. Anytime a student questions the integrity of a word or phrase they can easily check it at their desk without disrupting the class or distracting the teacher.
Schools around the word are implementing test programs to evaluate the usability of this new device. Inventors claim that by 2018 this eraser will be responsible for teaching grammar to over 250,000,000 students in 8 countries.
