Palm will introduce its latest version of the palm platform.
This version will be like the previous versions of the contact "in
your eye" design. This is a contact that fits in your eye that displays
information via the NLDC (new liquid crystal display) method. This unit
will be powered by human tear drops and will have constant never-ending
power. It's new features will include:
- Person identification via infrared vision with another person. If
you have a PDA on your eye, and so does another, your info will be transmitted
to the other person. Info transmitted will only contain the first name
as a privacy default, but you may choose which information you wish
to have seen by others
- Personalized directions to a destination. The contact will glow green
in the areas you should head, and slightly red in the areas to avoid.
This will allow you to know exactly where to turn when you are headed
to Aunt Mildred's home.
- Since every business and building has information ports, an infrared
beam will be transmitted to the contact to display information about
that business if need be.
- This new generation of contact will also dim to allow less sunlight
in, and will provide 100% UV protection while still allowing you to
view the screen.
