It's such a pleasure to read over the timelines all the way from 40,000 BC to 3990AD into the future.

By going through the timeline in the past, I got a better idea on things that was not so clear to me before. For an examply, I had no idea when the NJstar was created. It was a program that I heavily relied on back in the days when I was still stuck with the good'oh Win 95, 98. Thank goodness the XP was finally here, alas, I don't have to suffer the consequences of computer crashing 5 times everyday. After using XP for about 8 months, I am a happier computer user then I was ever was in the past. This thing has only crashed on my less than a handfull of times!

Anyways, back to topic about the timeline. I was delighted to find out when the useful NJstar was created in 1994, and also interested in reading into the details that linked to addtional information regarding the year of 1983 where APPLE IIe was brought to us by Steve Jobs. That was one of the most memorible "toys" that I grew up with!!

It is now in the year of 2002, and soon to be 2003 (boy, I am getting old!!). Sitting at the year of 2002 and looking back into the past 1,000 years I realized that there are more timeline entries starting the 1800s. However entries before that was either scattered or insufficient, especially from the time period of 105AD to 1795AD (between the entries of "The invention of paper" and "discovery of mixing clay and graphite"). Could this be part of the reason that previous entries were focused on the modern era, or was that 1800-year time frame purposely ignored. Compared to the 60+ total entries for the 200-year period between 1800 and 2002, there were only 13 entries for that 1800-year period, WOW!!

If we were given another chance to enhance this timeline, I would definetly focus on the information darkage between 105AD-1795AD.

Besides looking back, it was also a great pleasure to look into the future timeline entries where some people let their imaginations go uncensored. However, I do like to point out that in the entry of 2015, where "Cars are driving", could be happening faster then we ever expected.

Sources said that Mercedes-Benz, a Germany based automaker has already implemented their "distronic" technology in the S class sedans they produced backdated to 1999. Distronic is a technology where your car will be able to set the cruise speed identical to the viechle in front of you (at a safe distance, of course) and adjusting to the speed accordingly. In other words, the person in the car in front of your car, is "driving" your car, in some ways. =) "Cars are driving" could be the next big invention since the ABS, aidbags, and Navigation systems, and it could be here before the year of 2015, too!

Before we all get too excited about the future, lets pause and thin about this: How many of you (in the year of 1980s) actually hopeed that cars would start flying in the 21st century? =) I for one was hoping that would actually happen when I was 5 years old. It turned out that NO, the cars are not flying, and even the planes flying in the air have trouble staying out of accidents, too!

The future offers many exciting perspectives just like what the timeline has to offer. It is always good to look into the future while remembering the past. Afterall, the past is what got us what we are today, and only by making the full use of today, the future visions of the mankind will be one step closer to reality.

I think this timeline is a wonderful thing to be put on the Internet. However, this timeline could be even better and more comprehensive if more entries are inserted especially before the year of 1800.
