LIS 405: Library Administration

This course discusses the principles that govern how organizations and institutions work and how individuals operate within an organizational setting. The course will consider non-profit organizations such as libraries, museums, community organization s, educational institutions and government offices, as well as considering for-profit organizations. While the course focuses primarily on organization level issues, some key aspects of manager-employee relationships and the experience of the individual in an organizational setting are discussed.
