Miles Efron: Biographical Sketch

Miles Efron received his Ph.D. in Information and Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003. His teaching and research focus on information retrieval. Specifically, he is concerned with empirical, statistical approaches to providing access to large bodies of textual data. From 2004 until 2009 Miles Efron was an assistant professor in the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. Since fall 2009 he has served on the faculty of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, as an assistant professor.
